After a lot of πgoodbyes π and aurevoirs we left Marjal Camping as planned on Tuesday morning, and although we'd got about 160 miles to travel, our first concern was for refuelling. Our LPG gas tank is of the refillable kind and we'd been a bit concerned that our one full tank might not have lasted for the 6 weeks that we'd been at Marjal but we only managed to squeeze 12.5 litres in, so in actual fact we could have stayed much longer! And we were also delighted with our total fuel bill for T4rdis2! Our pitch had been inclusive of 4 kwh of electric a day but if we used more than that we had to pay - our bill came to just 7 quid! Gas was another 7 quid and for diesel we were charged the extortionate price of just £1.02/litre πππ !
Anyway, once all that was dealt with our route took us along the free A31 motorway out of Mercia and as we went, although it was bright and sunny, the temperature dropped to a shivery 4 degrees, and in places there was low cloud and mist shrouding the surrounding countryside. And the countryside - well for the first part of our journey it was mostly given over to grape vines and pomegranate orchards but as we neared Castellon the more familiar huge orange groves took over.

Can you spot Wally scrumping oranges? |

Our brilliant night finished around midnight, so as you might imagine, we needed a bit of a lie in on Sunday morning, and the rest of that day more or less followed in the same very lazy veinπ€π΄π€!
So that brings us once more to Monday which was the day I should have posted this blog - but by then I was having a little problem with my bike brakes - or lack of them - so a bike merchant had to be found! In the end we found 3 but none of them stocked the brake blocks we needed so Monday morning had really turned out to be a bit of a wild π₯(that's meant to be a goose) chase!
But while we'd been out (once again in the company of Jack and Liz) we'd decided to spend our afternoon being social, and to part-take of the wine we'd won at Friday's quiz! Then of course one glass turned into several, and before we knew it 7pm had arrived. And that would have been fine except as we were returning to our van a couple of our other friends called us over for a farewell drink prior to their departure on Tuesday morning! Therefore, by the time we got home it was nearly 9pm and we still hadn't had any tea, so obviously after all that there was clearly no time left for blog writing! But hey ho we're in slow paced Spain and what doesn't get done today can always wait till tomorrow or even the next day πππ
Did I tell you our new hobby is fishing πππ - that's tonight's tea! |
Bye for now π
